Ford Model A Deluxe Roadster with Dicky Seat 1931

Step back into the 1930s with this beautiful 1931 Ford Model A Deluxe Roadster. For enthusiasts of pre war classics, the Ford Model A is one of the most beloved models thanks to its distinctive styling, reliability and surprisingly user friendly controls.

This Ford is finished in stylish Ford Manila Brown with black fenders. The original pressed ribs on the fenders are still clearly visible, a beautiful detail that highlights the authenticity of this classic. The fenders are also fitted with spare wheels and protective covers. The body is richly decorated with beautiful original details that perfectly complement the character of this classic roadster.

The bodywork and paintwork show a tasteful patina consistent with a car of this age, without any serious damage. The car received an older restoration around the 1990s. The chrome is in good condition. The cream coloured wire wheels combined with whitewall tyres give the car a particularly elegant and almost museum quality appearance.

This Ford began its life in the United States and was driven there for many years. In the 1990s, the car was exported to Belgium, where it was restored during that period. Following the restoration, the Ford was used for some time before becoming part of a prominent private collection in the Netherlands. It remained in this impressive collection of classic automobiles for almost twenty years.

We recently brought this Model A back to life. Under the bonnet is the original 3,285 cc four cylinder engine, paired with a three speed manual transmission. The engine has been started and runs properly. An oil service has also been carried out and the mechanical components have been partially inspected.

As with any classic car that has been stationary for an extended period, we recommend having the vehicle fully inspected mechanically before using it extensively on public roads.

The Ford drives, shifts and sounds exactly as a classic Model A should. The interior is finished in brown imitation leather, including matching door panels, and is in very good condition. The large original steering wheel has also been well preserved.

The desirable dicky seat, also known as a rumble seat, mother in law seat or occasional rear seat, is also in good condition. Passengers can access this distinctive additional seating area through the easy to open rear tailgate, a particularly charming detail that makes this Ford even more special.
