Peugeot 201 Berline 1933 - Project - in good condition

Between 1929 and 1937, the French car manufacturer Peugeot produced this magnificent 201. It was the first Peugeot to feature the distinctive three-digit model name with a zero in the middle. 

This particular car left the factory on 7 March 1933 and was delivered to the Amiens-Somme region in France. The four-door model enjoyed a long working life there and was imported into Belgium in 1989. It was in 1992 that a Dutch collector learnt of this Peugeot. He had the car shipped to the Netherlands, where it has been on display in his private museum since 1992. Now it's ready for a new adventure!

A nice touch is the certificate from the Peugeot factory confirming its provenance. This is included with the sale.

Finished in beige with black side panels. The bodywork is rust-free, but the paintwork shows signs of wear. There is a patch on the bonnet where the paint is peeling, due to frequent opening. See photographs. The chrome trim is in very good condition and the grille really enhances the whole car. Furthermore, the saloon is in very good and, above all, solid condition. A lovely, authentic classic. The interior is in very good condition, with little to no wear and tear. The door panels and other interior fittings are also in fine condition.

Fitted with the original 1,122cc four-cylinder engine producing 23 pk. Mated to a manual gearbox. The engine is separate, but will need to be started up after 34 years of inactivity. A lovely little project and relatively straightforward to get going. It could also make a perfect eye-catcher in your showroom or business.

The original sparetire is with the car.
