Land Rover Defender 110 TD5 Custom Retro Build restomod 2002 fully restored
A truly one of a kind Land Rover Defender. Originally delivered in Bonetti Grey this 2002 Defender was completely restored and custom built in 2021 to the exact wishes of its current owner. The vehicle is offered for sale only because of the owner's emigration.
Quality was the guiding principle throughout the entire project. No expense was spared in creating a Defender that combines the timeless appearance of the classic Land Rover Series models with the reliability comfort and usability of a modern Defender. The restoration was carried out by renowned Dutch Land Rover specialist Moor For The Weekend. Every stage of the build has been documented with an extensive photographic record and all invoices. The total investment exceeded 90000 euros.
Bodywork
The entire body was dismantled down to the bare chassis. Every panel was carefully inspected and replaced where necessary with original or premium quality components before being individually refinished in beautiful Marine Blue with a contrasting white roof. Numerous components were re galvanised and intentionally left visible as a tribute to the original Land Rover design.
The body panels were fitted with premium sound and vibration insulation. Particular attention was given to panel alignment minimal visible seams waterproofing and long term corrosion protection. The original doors were replaced with improved steel Puma doors. Every bolt connection was treated with Duralac anti corrosion compound to prevent galvanic corrosion between steel and aluminium which is a well known issue on classic Land Rovers.
Chassis
The chassis was completely stripped treated and professionally refinished with a durable protective coating. New steel wheels with a revised offset provide a stronger stance while new springs and premium Old Man Emu shock absorbers significantly improve ride quality and handling.
Mechanical specification
Mechanically the Defender was rebuilt to the same exceptional standard. The complete drivetrain was inspected with worn components replaced by genuine or upgraded parts. Among the many new components are brake discs brake calipers master brake cylinder clutch master and slave cylinders clutch pressure plate flywheel and numerous additional drivetrain components. Every part replaced is fully documented through invoices and detailed parts lists.
