Beautifully restored 1971 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Cabriolet, completed with a full body-off restoration to Volkswagen factory specifications. Finished in its original Adriablau paintwork, as confirmed by the official Volkswagen Certificate. Originally delivered new in the United States, the car underwent a meticulous restoration in the Netherlands, completed in 2021.
The exterior is simply stunning, featuring beautifully renewed chrome trim, new rubber seals throughout and exceptional body panel fit. The body and chassis were completely dismantled and rebuilt to a very high standard. Photographs documenting every stage of the restoration are available, together with a comprehensive restoration file. The black mohair soft top has also been replaced and is presented in as-new condition.
The interior has been completely retrimmed in black skai leather, maintaining the car's original appearance while offering excellent comfort. The dashboard features the original combination instruments and a fully functioning Grundig radio. The elegant interior perfectly complements the Adriablau exterior and provides practical luggage space for touring.
Mechanically, the Karmann Ghia is powered by its original matching numbers 1,584 cc four-cylinder boxer engine, producing 48 hp, paired with its original matching numbers manual gearbox. The engine and drivetrain have also been professionally rebuilt, with photographic documentation included in the restoration history.
This Volkswagen drives exceptionally well and clearly reflects the attention to detail invested throughout its restoration. It is supplied with the official Volkswagen Certificate together with an extensive photographic record of the restoration.
