Volvo 340 GL 1984 5 Door 44,000 km Fully Documented

A beautiful and highly original Volvo 340 GL in the desirable five door configuration, with just 44,000 km on the odometer and fully documented mileage.

This example was delivered new in the Netherlands on 11 May 1984 and is now permanently exempt from Dutch road tax. It is finished in the distinctive Volvo Grey Blue Metallic. The original paintwork is in used but very neat condition, with normal signs of use consistent with its age.

The GL is further equipped with headlamp wipers, chrome trim and the more luxurious GL grille.

Interior

The interior is truly impressive. It features dark blue luxury upholstery and exceptionally comfortable seats. The door panels are also partially finished in blue.

The dashboard is in very good condition and shows no UV related cracks. The instrument cluster is fully equipped with an outside temperature gauge and vacuum gauge.

The rev counter and odometer work intermittently, a known issue on these cars.

This is the Special version, making this Volvo an especially rare and interesting example of the Volvo 340 series.

Mechanical Condition

This Volvo has always been very well maintained. It has recently undergone extensive engine servicing and the Variomatic transmission has been serviced with fresh fluids.

The selector mechanism and selector sensor have also been replaced, addressing a known issue with the Volvo 340.

The original 1,397 cc engine produces approximately 71 hp and is paired with the CVT transmission, better known as Volvo's fully automatic Variomatic system.

The car drives exceptionally well and feels surprisingly lively.

A genuine 1980s time capsule, this Volvo 300 Series is a wonderful example of practical and distinctive Dutch motoring history.

The Dutch MOT is valid until 15 June 2026.
