DAF 55 Marathon Sedan 1972 Factory original Matching Numbers

The legendary DAF 55 Marathon in the rare and desirable sedan configuration. Delivered new in 1972 and demonstrably owned by just three owners since new. This is an original factory built Marathon, not a standard DAF 55 fitted with a Marathon kit at a later date.

The car retains its original matching numbers 1,108 cc BR110 Marathon engine. This lively and exceptionally smooth running DAF produces approximately 63 hp and is paired with the famous Variomatic transmission.

The Marathon was repainted in the past and has been very well cared for ever since. The paintwork shows some signs of use and normal age related imperfections. The exterior is finished in Kobina White and features the correct original Marathon stripe.

A particularly distinctive detail is the original STIL alloy wheels. These are the correct early type and a matching spare wheel is included. If you prefer the original factory DAF Marathon wheels, these can also be fitted as an option.

Another unique feature is the factory original sliding sunroof, which is completely watertight and operates smoothly. It is wonderfully simple to use and makes summer driving even more enjoyable.

Interior

The interior of this DAF 55 is beautifully preserved and highly original. The dashboard is almost completely free of damage and shows only minimal signs of use. It has retained its original colour and remains fully functional.

The seats are in beautiful condition and look almost new. They also provide an impressive level of comfort for a classic of this era.

Maintenance

The DAF has been properly maintained and is ready for immediate use. Recent maintenance includes a major service, replacement of the brake fluid and replacement of a brake cylinder cup seal.
