DAF 66 1300 Marathon Coupe 1975 restored
DAF 66 1300 Marathon Coupe 1975 in restored condition
This beautiful DAF 66 Marathon Coupe was delivered new in 1975 and underwent a meticulous, nut-and-bolt restoration in 2020. The Marathon was DAF's sportier and more powerful model, distinguished by its unique wheels, distinctive striping and upgraded engine. Naturally, this coupe is also equipped with the fully automatic Variomatic transmission.
The exterior has been refinished in its original Terrana paint colour. This distinctive peanut brown shade is the colour in which the car left the factory and has now been beautifully restored to its original appearance. The car is further equipped with its original Marathon wheels and factory striping.
The interior features the comfortable original "nun's cap" front seats, which have been reupholstered with new upholstery. The rear seat has also been retrimmed to match. The dashboard is finished in a wood-effect design and features the sporty combination instrument cluster. Following the restoration, the interior once again feels as good as new.
Mechanically, this DAF is powered by its original 1,298 cc four-cylinder engine producing 57 hp. The engine is paired with the smooth and reliable Variomatic transmission. Since the restoration, the car has covered only 450 km.
The restoration was carried out in the Netherlands by Moorfortheweekend (www.moorfortheweekend.com) and has been comprehensively documented. The complete restoration file accompanies the car.
Driving this DAF guarantees plenty of thumbs-up and an enjoyable motoring experience!
