DAF 66 Marathon Sedan 1100 Unique GLS Wheels Marchal Lights

A unique and particularly beautiful first series DAF 66 Marathon. This version was produced for just one year in 1973 and is equipped with the 1,108 cc Marathon engine. Only around eight examples of this particular version are known to remain in the Netherlands.

A true enthusiast's car that has also been actively used over the years, as demonstrated by the many period window stickers. This DAF has become a familiar sight and was well known for many years as a Vredestein tyre promotional vehicle. Documentation relating to its promotional history is included.

Exterior

The exterior is finished in distinctive Neona Yellow. As can be seen in the photos, the paintwork has some imperfections, but remains in good overall condition. The entire car has recently been polished, bringing back a beautiful shine.

The DAF sits on highly desirable GLS wheels finished in black, fitted with good quality Vredestein tyres. The front is equipped with original Marchal Starlux 709 auxiliary driving lights measuring 200 mm. They are fully functional and securely mounted.

Interior

The interior retains the original dashboard and first series Marathon steering wheel. A working VDO rev counter has been fitted to the dashboard.

An additional luggage shelf has been installed underneath the dashboard, providing useful extra storage space.

The seats are Volvo type seats, which offer considerably more comfort than the original DAF seats and make this Marathon particularly pleasant to drive.

Engine and Mechanical Condition

This Marathon has always been well maintained and was regularly driven. As a result, the original 1,108 cc BR110 engine runs very well.

The Variomatic transmission is also in good condition. The car is additionally equipped with a strut brace, improving chassis rigidity and driving characteristics.

With a valid Dutch MOT, this DAF 66 Marathon is an ideal and rare classic daily driver or an excellent basis for a rolling restoration. It would also be very suitable for classic rallies and historic events.

The car has valid Dutch registration and export is possible.
