Peugeot 505 GL 1985 Fully Original Dutch Delivered

A Peugeot 505 that was once a familiar sight on European roads but has now almost completely disappeared from everyday traffic. This 1985 Peugeot 505 GL was delivered new in the Netherlands and has covered just 179,000 km.

The car was stored for some time and has recently been brought back into use. We have recommissioned the car and it has received a new Dutch MOT.

Exterior

This 505 GL is finished in green metallic and features the distinctive and unmistakable front end that gives the 505 its characteristic appearance. The paintwork is completely original, so the car naturally shows some signs of use consistent with its age.

There is a small repaired area underneath the windscreen which has been treated and should provide many more years of service. The exterior is further complemented by several chrome details, giving the car a more elegant appearance.

Interior

The interior perfectly represents traditional French comfort. The solid and comfortable seats are finished in original fabric upholstery. The interior is completely original and features the second generation dashboard.

The dashboard is in good condition and, importantly, is free from cracks.

Engine and Mechanical Condition

The Peugeot is equipped with its original 1,971 cc 2.0 litre four cylinder engine producing 107 hp, paired with a five speed manual gearbox. Both engine and gearbox operate well and make this 505 a pleasure to drive.

After a longer period of storage, the 505 has been recommissioned and received a new Dutch MOT. The brakes have been renewed all around, the carburetor has been rebuilt and adjusted, and the engine has been thoroughly checked.

The engine responds enthusiastically and provides more than enough performance to keep up comfortably with modern traffic.

A genuine trip down memory lane for those who grew up in the 1980s.
